AMBASSADOR PROGRAMME

Become a voice for entrepreneurship in your community.

1 out of 3 entrepreneurs say there is a strong culture of learning emerging within their community.

A grassroots learning movement.

What if every community had a champion empowered to promote entrepreneurship and offer structured support to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs around them?

The Heavy Chef Foundation’s ambassador programme aims to grow a movement of young entrepreneurial leaders within local communities across the continent.

THE AMBASSADORs

Heavy Chef ambassadors are natural leaders. They are people who have shown an appetite and aptitude to self-organise support for entrepreneurs in their community.

Duties of our ambassadors include:

  • Collect data about the wants and needs of entrepreneurs in their community.

  • Identify and arrange interviews to produce localised recipes about success stories within their community.

  • Organise and host local networking events.

  • Setup learning and support groups for entrepreneurs in their community.

  • Provide access to local content for entrepreneurs.

  • Connect with Heavy Chef partners to organise valuable resources to support local entrepreneurs.

  • Measure and track local business activity in their community.

THE PROGRAMME

The Heavy Chef Ambassador programme design is based on our own proprietary research that identified the criteria for a healthy entrepreneur learning ecosystem.

From the findings we setup a 1-year development programme for young entrepreneurial leaders that consists of:

  1. 3-day in-person orientation.

  2. Remote training on programme deliverables.

  3. Ongoing support and communication.

  4. Targeted community building assignments.

  5. Awards, certification and letters of recommendation.

THE PROCESS

The Heavy Chef Foundation will open a call for applications three times a year: April, August, December.

Successful applicants must demonstrate that they have:

  • An existing network of local entrepreneurs.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Good digital literacy.

  • Strong self-organisation skills.

  • A track record of learning and sharing.

  • A passion for entrepreneurship.

  • The confidence and commitment to lead and support their local entrepreneurs throughout the programme.

Benefits of bite-size.

Heavy Chef produces over 100s of learning bites every week. The volume, quality and relevance of our micro-bites of learning provide our ambassadors with the ability to be highly responsive to the needs of entrepreneurs in their community.

THE OUTCOMES

Heavy Chef ambassadors are representatives of Heavy Chef in their communities. At the end of the programme, ambassadors would have lead their community to setup systems to sustain a vibrant culture of learning and support that includes:

  • Established access to an ongoing stream of education content for entrepreneurs.

  • Established events and learning programmes for entrepreneurs.

  • Established relationships with service providers to provide access to resources for entrepreneurs.
